Sunboys @ River Island

Hi guys.

We are planning to spend the weekend at River Island.
This is a lovely isolated valley 40 minutes from Mittagong (2 hours from Sydney).
The weather here can be completely different even from Mittagong just up the road.
It is a mostly straight resort with a few local van owners that are gay (Dave and Rod owned one briefly).
Sunboys have been going to RI for many years and we are well accepted there so long as we dont have any overt displays of affection in public spaces.


There are caravans to hire or if you like a bit of luxury then the cabins with their own on-suites are very comfy or if you wish you can pitch a tent.

If booking a van ask for one in the Sunboys group: van numbers 5-8 or 9-12.
Most sleep two, some sleep three.
They cost $95 per night for two adults.

There is a swimming pool, three spa, tubs a sauna and extensive walks.

We usally have a casual night on Friday night and a group meal on Saturday night.
All catering as BYO (although River Island do still serve some meals i think).
There are BBQ's in the area of the caravans.

A bit further down the road you will find a tall sign on the left side of the road saying River Island Nature Retreat. Follow this road down (and down and down). Yes the road at the end is very steep.


This has alwys been a fun trip away and we usually come back to the city fully recharged.

Rod & David are opening their home again to the group to have a finale summer splash in the pool (and sauna).

Remember the house rules please:

• NO GLASS AROUND THE POOL (or anywhere for that matter - its just safer)
• Don't traipse water through the house  - please towel off after you leave the pool.
• Please, if sitting on a seat inside USE A TOWEL.
• Remember this is a social group. Not a sex group. If a guy says NO, then he means NO. If he moves your hand away from his crutch then DO NOT try again.

Many years ago when the US NBS version toured AUS the original Sunboys group organised a full hall at the old Valhalla Theatre in Glebe. It was a fun night and the cast were quite impressed.
